I totally wasn’t gonna bother until it was actually morning, but then I saw all those notes coming out of nowhere.
In any case, according to my email, Allen is in the middle of (or about to start) his summer tour, and just announced some of the fall dates. During the summer tour, he will be sharing the stage with quite a few people, including the Dave Matthews band for a few nights. During the fall tour, his lineup includes (wait for it) Tingsek, Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds, Yuna and Selah Sue. I have no idea what I’m getting myself into with these people (excepting Tingsek), but I’m ridiculously excited about this tour.
Now, the general public tickets will go on sale June 22nd or June 23rd (friday or Saturday), and part of the proceeds from these ticket sales will go to the Keep A Breast Foundation. However, Presale tickets will go live at 10am et/9am ct from his Official Website and will be on sale until Thursday, June 21st.
What’s so special about these presale tickets? The proceeds are still going to breast cancer, but you get a free download of Allen performing Tingsek’s “Six Years” live at Robert Lang Studios. I don’t know if I’ve said this here, but while Tingsek’s version is pretty great, Allen owned it and made that song his bitch. It’s that damn good.
Anyways, that’s about it. Allen says to sit tight if your city is not on the current schedule, more will be added later. There’s also something about a tour promo vid on Youtube, but I’ll get to that in another post.
